Frequently Asked Questions

What packages do you offer?

Mammoth are proud to offer a selection of packages to cover all of your musical requirements for your special event. From a simple evening reception package, to a whole bespoke entertainment option.

Get in touch and we’d be happy to discuss how we can best compliment your special event.

How long does it take you to set up?

We will usually arrive two hours prior to the start of our performance to allow us to load in, set up, get changed into smart clothes and sound check as unobtrusively as possible.

How long will you play for?

Mammoth usually plays for two one hour sets with a half an hour break in the middle. Exact timings for this can be discussed prior to your event, so that we can make sure your night runs smoothly around your itinerary.

What happens when the band are not performing?

From the moment our speakers are set up, we are able to provide background music. We will also provide background music during our break and up to thirty minutes after the end of our last song. If your curfew is later than this we are able to provide recorded music for longer, for a nominal fee. If there are specific songs or a playlist you’d like us to play through our speakers, please share it with us before the event and we’d be happy to do so.

Our venue has a sound limiter, is this a problem?

Whilst it can be a challenge when a venue has a sound limiter installed, we are able to adhere to most restrictions as we work with a dedicated sound engineer. This means that we are able to focus on giving you the best performance whilst our sound engineer keeps us sounding good out front - and we won’t upset the neighbours! We strongly recommend asking your venue if they have a sound limiter installed so that we can make sure bring all of the necessary equipment.

What timings usually work best for the evening?

We’re happy to be as flexible as possible around your itinerary, but here is an example of what usually works really well:

  • 6-6.30pm - Band arrives to load in and start setting up and sound checking, as unobtrusively as possible

  • 8.20pm Cake Cutting - We're happy to announce this over our speakers, if you'd like

  • 8.30 pm First Dance (live or recorded version) - We’re happy to announce this over our speakers, if you’d like

  • 8.35pm - 9.35pm - Set one

  • Evening food usually comes out and we take 30-45 mins break whilst people are eating whilst we play recorded music through our speakers

  • 10-10.30pm - 11-11.30pm (subject to your venue’s curfew) Set two

  • Up to 30 mins of recorded music whilst we pack down until our speakers are the last thing to load out (subject to your venue’s music curfew)

Do Mammoth take requests?

Absolutely! Some of our previous requests have even made it on to our regular set list. We offer clients the chance to choose up to 2 of their favourite songs. One of those can even be for a first dance.

Can I pick what songs the band play?

Whilst we are happy to learn up to 2 requests, we recommend our working repertoire as these songs have been tried and tested on the dance floor!

We appreciate there may be some songs you simply don’t like, so let us know prior to the event and we would be happy to omit them from your set list.

Mammoth are great at reading the room and will know what songs to drop at the right time. If there are specific songs or a playlist you’d like us to play over our speakers, please share it with us before the event and we’d be happy to make sure they’re played during our break.

Can we speak to the band direct?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on offering a personal service on the run up to your event so that you can get to know us and how we’ll go about making your event run smoothly. This means you can relax and enjoy the party!

You can contact us via your preferred method and we will respond promptly. We are also happy to arrange zoom meetings with you and your venue coordinators.

Can we see you live?

Yes, we’d love to meet you! All of our upcoming events are on our Facebook page.

What payment methods do you accept and when should I pay?

Currently, we only accept BACS payment. A booking fee is required to secure the date and the full balance is required no later than 14 days prior to the event. We do accept instalments and are happy to assist with any concerns you may have along the way.

What happens if we need to cancel?

We know things happen and we try to accommodate for any changes where possible. Please read our cancellation policy on our performance agreement.
